This app actually teaches you the alphabets and is very easy and clear to use. It breaks it down to step by steps. I would highly recommend trying this app if you are learning Japanese

I have learned so much just by using this app! I can actually start to read some Japanese in the e-books that I have. I recommend this app to anyone who wants to learn Japanese.

The app is great but when I tried to upgrade , the upgrade menu page just showed words, no upgrade button. Great app though !

I just wish i could do some shuffle mode, instead of by categories during quizzes, and have at least all categories in one quiz mode.

I have only downloaded the free version, but I really like it. I have noticed at least one typo on the romaji (it says duruma, but should be daruma.) This didnt affect me, but it made me think of the people who may rely on the romaji. Anyway, I plan on buying the upgrade.　I will edit my review after that. (To anyone learning Japanese, please master hiragana in the first few weeks of learning. It is vital to your ability to fully learn.)

Good apps what can really help out

Very good! In conjunction with the hiragana app to practice stroke order, its been easy to memorize the lessons in this app. If it had a way to practice stroke order by itself, it would be more stars.

This app is excellent!

Its a great app. You can learn hiragana and katakana quite easily, and also some basic phrases which set the reference points when you hear Japanese talking. I would like to see iPad version have greater screen size, though--now the app is just copied from iPhone version. My fingers are to big for those small buttons, and I had to buy a stylus to manage it :-) But still, the only real problem with this app is lack of time :-)

Easy app to learn the basics: hiragana and Katagana. Its repetitive but thats how one memorize the sound and the writing of the syllables. Love this app. Totally recommended for beginners.

I have bought the full version of this through the free version. The App Store doesnt verify so I couldnt comment on the 9.99 version. Very strange. I love this app. I am in the navy. I wish I had known about this 4 years ago when I got here in Japan!

Best Japanese language app out there. Ive got two others that i have not used since getting this one. Get it! Only thing that would improve it - slow down the voice a bit.
